High Altitude Performance Laboratory
What is it? A sport performance and exercise physiology facility equipped to assess the major fitness parameters. These parameters include but are not limited to: muscular endurance, muscular strength, cardiopulmonary capacity, flexibility, and body composition.
Sport testing offered:
- VO2max with gas analysis (Parvo Medics True One System, Provo, UT)
- Lactate threshold (LT) with a handheld lactate analyzer (Accutrend Lactate, Sports Resource Group, Inc.)
- Running or cycling economy
- Metabolic caloric assessment test (MCAT)
- Resting metabolic rate (RMR)
- Data analysis is conducted after each test along with a personalized consult with an exercise specialist. From the various exercise tests, an exercise prescription is written related to a person’s current level of fitness and future sport or exercise goals.
- To discuss the cost of each test and/or schedule a time for an assessment, contact Scott Drum at 943-2104.
- Download a HAPLab Brochure for a comprehensive look at tests offered and pricing schemes, including massage therapy.
