Staff Meeting for Tuesday, May 05

• For new material (books, DVDs), Lara will be posting new books, etc. to the blog. I need to add Lara to the library blog and do some training if needed.
• For next fall, Nancy will be going around to all of the departments and she wants to highlight the following (possibly) new services:
  • Savage Library blog with new materials
  • Choice online for selecting material
  • IM reference service
  • Podcast for new students (I need to revise our script from last year to include new services)
• Reference Services, we will look at adding instant messenger reference service for the fall. I am tasked at looking at Meebo or some other service to accomplish this task. Nancy wants us to look at other ways to improve reference, could include more cross-training with IT and we also discussed having a day student worker to assist the reference librarian due to possible increase in reference service through the IM reference.
