Staff Meeting for October 8, 2008

  • Larry talked about updates to Ebsco database. DOI (Digital Object Identifier) now required for some citation formats, APA. Common way to identify text, audio, and video. Applies to only material that is online. Multiple layers of granularity, website http://www.doi.org/, direct resolver available http://dx.doi.org/.
  1. Ebsco now provides citation formats for an article.
  2. Ebsco slider bar for publication date filter
  3. Ebsco filter by reference
  • Eric circulation update
  1. DVD check-in, student must magnetize before checking in to catch missing DVDs.
  2. For community members - don't waive fees as it requires Eric to manually add fines.
  3. Still working on overdue notices.
  • Nancy's MUG notes
  1. Banner-III module, Mesa State piloting but having problems.
  2. Gold rush - Marmot will provide 1-year trial, after year Marmot will provide some support, library's may have to contribute some money.
  3. Create list can export to Excel.
