Go to http://www.musicandmedia.org/about/ and familiarize yourself with music & media. Once you understand the organization, click on Hot Topics, scroll down to "Where Music Will be Coming From" by Kevin Kelly and read his article.

Watch some TV! Simple of course, but do it with a critical lens. Take note of commercials, target audiences, which programs are on which stations at what time, how YOU interact with your television.
