The trails around Crested Butte are world class. Not long after a bunch of knuckle heads in Marin County, California put gears on their "klunker" bikes and started peddling the slopes of Mt. Tam did a group of like minded folks do the same in Crested Butte. Known as one of the original locations of modern mountain biking, Crested Butte is home to The Mountain Bike Hall of Fame and some of the best high country single track in North America. Coupled with the trails at Hartman Rocks, the Gunnison Valley has a riding season from April to November
