On the Trip
On this trip, we focused on learning many different camping, cooking, and organizational skills. Along with those skills, we followed the Leave No Trace ethics while in the backcountry. Thanks to mostly good weather, we were able to summit Crystal peak (12,777). We were mostly in the Cement Creek drainage for the duration of the trip. We roughly made a twenty mile loop starting at Waterfall Creek trail head then heading towards Star Peak and Crystal Peak. We then went by Friends Hut and headed into the Brush Creek drainage. He then hiked back over into the Cement Creek drainage and ended at the Waterfall Creek trail head.
